Summer time is the perfect time to hit the pool with friends for fun in the sun, and thanks to a great organization you can swim for a great cause. Swim for MS is a unique fundraiser that offers volunteers flexibility and choice in their efforts all across the United States as they raise funds for multiple sclerosis.

Multiple Sclerosis, or MS, is a disease of the central nervous system which interrupts the stream of information happening between the brain and body that affects approximately 400,000 Americans.  MS can become physically and emotionally challenging, with financial hardships frequently occurring for many people who have been diagnosed. Employment changes and the potential loss of medical insurance can make it difficult for those with MS to afford the necessary medications, doctor appointments, and medical testing. For these reasons, the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) has been supporting the MS community for over 40 years.

Volunteers are asked to arrange their own swim challenges while gathering online donations to support the MSAA. These swim challenges may be performed with a team or individually, generally falling under two categories: Go The Distance and Make A Splash. Individuals or teams who choose to participate under the Go The Distance category will set a goal to swim a certain distance or number of laps in one day or over a predetermined period of time to raise a certain amount of money.  Those who participate in the Make A Splash category can turn different pool activities, such as a pool volleyball tournament into a rewarding fundraiser.

Both of the aforementioned categories are equally beneficial to the Swim for MS cause.  Any dollar amount that you or your team set as a donation goal is vastly appreciated!  Volunteers are welcomed to register today and dive in for an incredible way to help others in need!
