WWE Takes Major Action Against Breast Cancer!

The long awaited road to Wrestlemania is usually the most exciting time of the year for World Wrestling Entertainment, but a great deed is taking the spotlight. The night before Wrestmania 30, Chief Brand Officer and daughter of WWE owner, Stephanie McMahon, joined community partner Susan G. Komen New Orleans at their Grantee Reception to give $600,000 in grants to nine recipients. It was the largest donation that Susan G. Komen New Orleans has ever given.

The grants will be funding more than 4,000 in-office and mobile mammograms for rural parishes, as well as diagnostic screenings and breast cancer treatment across Louisiana. These grants are especially helpful to the state, as it currently has the highest death rates for breast cancer in the country.

“One of the most important partnerships that we have is with Susan G. Komen,” said McMahon, to the website WWECommunity.com. “Breast cancer affects everyone around the world.” She continued saying, “It impacts everyone’s life, including WWE’s audience. Our partnership with Komen gives us the ability to reach those people and spread the message to find the cure. We are incredibly proud to be here today to do just that.”

It’s great to see such wonderful act to raise awareness for breast cancer screening, education, treatment and research. Remember that no act of charity is too small, keep fighting the good fight and standing strong against cancer!
