If you’ve never taken Houston’s Jitney Shuttle Service, now is a great time to do it as you check out all of the awesome holiday lights around town!
The Wave is a jitney service, which is a shuttle that carries 9-15 people and runs a fixed route throughout our city for a fixed rate. A lot of people use the service to get home after hitting bars, plus the price is great to transport you and a group of friends all night.
This year for the holidays, they are offering a special annual Holiday Lights Tour, checking out the most noted, unique light displays in the city, beginning and ending in Market Square Park for only $30. The best part is that $5 of every ticket will be donated back to the Buffalo Bayou Partnership, the non-profit organization that takes care of our city’s most important natural resource, Buffalo Bayou.
You can bring your whole extended family that may be in town for the holidays or just a large group of friends that you otherwise wouldn’t be unable to fit inside of a personal vehicle. Tickets will also include specials at the Market Square establishments, such as Niko Niko’s, Barnaby’s, La Carafe and many other businesses in the area.
The Holiday Tour event runs December 16th through 18th and the 23rd from 6:30 to 9:30pm. Hopefully we get a bit more winter weather before then to add to the mood and you can bring along hot chocolate or warm cider.
