J.J. Watt: Dream Big, Work Hard

J.J. Watt is a household name anywhere in the U.S., not just in Texas. Recently gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated, Watt is the highest paid defensive player in the league right now, has the most touchdowns by a defensive player since 1944, and is one of the most charismatic players on and off the field. When you watch a Texans game, you’re looking at J.J.Watt.

Watt doesn’t just go out onto the field knowing he’s going to have a great game, he works extremely hard and is dedicated to the sport. Teammates are always amazed at the passion he shows for the game, refusing to leave practices early, working extra days doing punishing drills usually reserved for the off season – he’s not only getting himself pumped up, he’s getting the whole team fired up and ready. His passion isn’t just for show, Watt firmly believes, and has been telling his friends for ages, “You can’t get today back.” In keeping with his statement, he works every single day as hard as possible to be the best player he can be.
This is one football player who spends every day of his life fulfilling the dream he had as a kid, the one he turned into a goal.  Not just to be a football player, but to be a football star, to stand out from the crowd by putting in hard work on and off the field.  After spending every afternoon in front of a JUGS machine, catching footballs – sometimes with just one hand –Watt then went on to catch two touchdown passes while playing at the tight end position. He didn’t just expect to meet his goal, he made it happen.
J.J. Watt is absolute proof that if you work hard, you stay passionate, and you make your dreams into your goals, that you will absolutely succeed.  As long as you dream big and work hard, everything is within your reach, so don’t be scared to set your goals high – just know that it is worth the extra effort and you will realize your dreams.
