Big Brothers Big Sisters Needs Your Mentorship!

Are you looking to personally impact the lives of our young future minds? The Big Brothers Big Sisters organization has been partnering children and teenagers between the ages of 7 and 14 throughout communities in the United States, with caring adults who will help them reach their full potential since 1927. The largest Big Brothers Big Brothers agency in the world is right here in the Lone Star state, so there are plenty of children needing mentorship!

By partnering children facing adversity with strong, professional leaders in 1 on 1 relationships, Big Brothers Big Sisters has altered lives forever. The organization envisions an era where all children can have success in life. National research has shown that the program has had a profound effect on children as they have shown more confidence in their school work, are able to get along better with families, and are less likely to make negative decisions such as drugs or fighting.

Statistics show that after 18 months of mentorship, children were:

-46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
-27% less likely to begin using alcohol
-52% less likely to skip school
-37% less likely to skip a class
-33% less likely to hit someone

You have an amazing opportunity make positive changes in a child’s future by simply reading with them, playing video games, eating pizza, going to a museum, playing sports and hanging out lending a listening ear to your new young pal. You can also choose a community or school based program.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters are in high demand!  Join them in helping young children who need words of encouragement, positive role models and good laugh every now and then!
